Principal Software Engineer — Azure Kubernetes Service

Microsoft's Azure team in Bengaluru is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design of AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service). You will own complex engineering problems, set technical direction, and collaborate with teams across Redmond and Bengaluru. **Responsibilities:** - Define and drive the technical roadmap for AKS control-plane components - Build highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems at cloud scale - Mentor senior engineers and establish best practices across the org - Partner with PMs and customers to shape product direction **Qualifications:** - 10+ years of software engineering experience - Deep expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native patterns - Strong Go or C++ skills; experience with Linux kernel networking a plus - Prior experience in a principal/staff+ IC role
